... a Product Designer to join a newly formed remote multi-disciplinary team to lead the building of a SaaS web tool that analyses the Carbon Footprint of any given physical product and identifies ways to reduce it.
We imagine someone senior (4+ years of relevant experience in digital product design) with an end-to-end design skillset and a passion for reducing complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility and ease of use. Someone that has experience applying best practices while knowing when to adjust them to the reality of a scaling, fast-paced start-up. Bonus points if you have worked on a B2B SaaS product before.

About the role
We are looking for an LCA specialist to help support our Data Science team to build the most comprehensive data set for retail carbon footprints. This role is perfect for someone with experience in assessing the life-cycle impact of products.
What this looks like (responsibilities)
- Review LCA literature to find the most relevant data and create highly detailed LCA models.
- Perform detailed calculations to understand material flows and their greenhouse gas emissions.
- Help develop our internal life cycle assessment tooling.
- Support with building internal tools that improve our ability to analyze and validate customer carbon footprints.
Who we are looking for (qualifications)
- Academic background in a related field
- 1 - 2 years relevant experience in LCAs but fresh Graduates are welcome to apply
- Previous experience with LCA software or databases: GaBi, Simapro, Ecoinvent. etc.
- Works collaboratively within a team as well as autonomously
- A passion for solving climate change
- Fluent in English

Role: Primarily develop and maintain dashboards for internal and external needs. The role could include other ad-hoc tasks. This is a part-time position with a 20-hour a week commitment.
Tasks:
- Write Python scripts to improve the data extraction or load processes
- Test and validate the data in our datalake
- Write SQL queries primarily in Google Bigquery but probably also in postgreSQL
- Develop dashboard and data visualizations that address the customers’ needs and business requirements
- Maintain dashboards already created
- Support the team in ad-hoc requests, possibly involving other programming languages
Who we are looking for:
- Preferably someone with prior experience in the form of internship or part-time work in data environments or with a portfolio of projects developed independently (Github, Kaggle, etc)

Tasks:
- To calculate carbon emissions, our platform needs to understand the content of certain websites.
- Our homemade service accomplishes this task by using modules, one per website.
- Your job will be to write and maintain those modules.
- General programming knowledge, in any language
- Bonus: Experience in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON)
- Understanding of DOM and CSS selectors
- Understanding of web scrapping concepts
- Unix/Linux command-line interface knowledge

Tasks
- Act as the first point of contact for the team and external stakeholders
- Assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day tasks
- Keeping several systems up to date with employee information
- Record employee absences and maintain team calendars
- Provide information for monthly payroll, including new starters and leavers
- Manage, file and upload supplier invoices, expense receipts and any other relevant documents in the accounts system
- Any other administrative duties as required

- Native or Fluent German and Fluent in English
- A good understanding of employment regulations in Germany (desirable)

- Managing all hardware and software assets for the team
- IT set up and onboarding for new joiners
- Supporting the team with any tech issues (e.g. troubleshooting bad internet connections, software not working)
- Assisting in the process of systems backup and recovery procedures
- Implementing best practices and security protocols, including data protection (e.g. ensuring everyone encrypts their hard drive)
- Track system lifecycles and plan on refreshes, decommissions, etc. while staying aligned with budgets
- Administrating accounts (incl. Google and 1Password)
Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in IT
- Experience administrating all operating systems commonly used by us: Mac OS and Windows (Linux – nice to have)
- Excellent knowledge and experience with IT Infrastructures including connectivity, networks and security (including remote access)
- Demonstrable past experience in a hands-on IT role
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to play an important role as a people lead for our engineers in the development of our carbon software, used by our online retail customers to help them measure, monitor and reduce their carbon footprint. You will be joining Vaayu as one of the first employees in a fast growing start-up and have the opportunity to help shape everything that comes next. This role is perfect for someone with an intuition for data and who also enjoys leading a team. We value entrepreneurial minded people, who always think ‘customer first’.
Reporting to our Co-founder / CTO, you will provide day-to-day oversight of the engineering teams and will help Vaayu to establish a clear management structure, tightly defined processes, and a positive culture.
This role will require a growth mindset, as we’ll rely on your leadership and guidance r as the team grows from 7 to 20 engineering staff in the next 12-18 months.

- Line manage the engineers in your team, by helping them set individual and team goals, and coaching them to bring out the best in one another;
- Contribute to product strategy, set project goals and continue to support and mentor your team as it grows and evolves;

- You’ll work in an agile environment and ensure and help your team continuously improve their methodologies;
